Competition Overview

Prizes, Concise Schedule, and Important Dates

UTAPlanet: 22 will take place during the last half of 2022. Each round is two months long with two weeks of downtime between each round for judging, audience voting, and for the competitors to rest.

Prizes

Winner(s) at the end of the competition will receive a compilation of prizes.

  • The grand prize is $150 USD to be split amongst the winning team

  • Winning participants will receive a full body standing image of a character of their choice or a still PV image from N.Zo

  • The winning team will also get one standing illustration from Zestea (@zestea_z)

  • Winning participants will receive redesigns of their UTAU on UTAPlanet, together

Round 1 - Create

April 29 2022 12:00 am PST - June 24 2022 11:59 pm PST

Competitors are given eight weeks to complete an UTAU cover. The theme, missions, and challenges will be announced as the start date approaches. The round missions must be met by all competitors. Additional challenges will greatly benefit competitors.

Round 2 - Captivate 

July 8 2022 12:00 am PST - September 2 2022 11:59 pm PST

Competitors are given eight weeks to complete an UTAU cover. The theme, mission, and challenges will be announced two weeks after the end of Round 1. The round missions must be met by all competitors. Additional challenges will greatly benefit competitors.

Round 3 - Connect

September 23 2022 12:00 am PST - November 18th 2022 11:59 pm PST 

The remaining competitors are given the final eight weeks to complete an UTAU cover. The theme, mission, and challenges will be announced two weeks after the end of Round 2. The round missions must be met by all competitors. Additional challenges will greatly benefit competitors.

Point System

Point Distribution Through the Rounds

There are three categories available for judging, and four opportunities for points. Covers are judged on tuning, mixing, and art. Points are assigned for tuning skill, mixing quality, art execution, and audience voting.


Each category has one main judge who accounts for up to 50% of the total points. The following two judges will make up to 40% of their score combined. Audience voting accounts for the final 10% of the score.

  • Up to 75 from Primary Judge (Keopi)

  • Up to 30 points from Keerumi

  • Up to 30 points from N.Zo

  • Up to 15 points from Audience Voting
